Greeting Sunrise: A Farewell to Wind Farms

Lord, every nation on earth will adore you.

Justice shall flower in his days,

and profound peace,
till the moon be no more.

Ps 72:1-2

My morning meditation with Susie and Deliah has become ritual for me. So it wasn't surprising that an article about Cape Cod's native Wampanoag tribe's "spiritual ritual of greeting sunrise" caught my attention. A wind farm threatened their sunrise. The rush of day often threatens ours. The National Park Service recognized the importance of preserving the Wampanoags' or "people of the first light's" ritual. My morning space where Susie, Deliah and I have learned to greet our day preserves the importance of mine. Each of us needs our sunrise.
